HELLO FALL

I admit that I completely stole this idea after I saw it on Pinterest. I followed the picture and found a great website called The Decor Chick. That's the problem with being a robot; I have no time to think of a new way to do things, so I simply reproduce good ideas with my own twist.  In this case, the twist is rather small.  I loved the colors and thought they would look great against my red front door.

Here's the link to see how the wreath is made: easy fall wreath.

BLUE IS THE NEW PINK

I have a problem. If I have more than two days off in a row, I feel a compulsion to paint something. I can’t ignore it. Must. Pick. Up. Paint. Brush. I’m on a first name basis with the paint guy at Home Depot. Hi, Frank!

My eight-year-old, Layne was tired of her pink room. Blue is her new favorite color, you know. That was all she needed to tell me. A blue room was born.

Layne and I worked together to spice things up and decided to add a stencil. We agree that it added a little extra pizazz. I bought the stencil at JoAnn's and used a metallic paint to make the design stand out. It looks shimmery and dreamlike at night.

The room is still a work in progress. I would like to add easy stuff like a fun chandelier and wall art; and not-so-easy stuff like crown molding and window trim. Who knows...by the time I get around to adding the "finishing touches", Layne may have a new favorite color and I can go visit my friend Frank again!
